What to expect - and how to get started.

  • We work with women and couples navigating anxiety, burnout, trauma, and life transitions.

    This can include:

    • Perinatal mood and anxiety disorders (pregnancy & postpartum)

    • Fertility challenges and reproductive transitions

    • Perimenopause and menopause

    • Identity shifts and evolving roles

    • Relationship stress or disconnection

    • Caregiving or career burnout

    • Trauma, grief, or loss

If you’re not sure whether what you’re experiencing “fits,” you’re still welcome here.

  • The first session is a chance to slow down and talk through what’s been going on. We’ll explore what brought you to therapy, gather relevant background, and begin identifying what support might look like for you. There’s no pressure to have everything figured out—we’ll move at a pace that feels comfortable and collaborative.

  • We ask for at least 24 hours’ notice for cancellations or rescheduling. We understand that life happens, and we aim to approach these situations with flexibility when possible. However, late cancellations or missed appointments may be subject to the full session fee.

  • Choosing a therapist who feels like the right fit matters. We offer a free 15-minute consultation so you can ask questions, share what’s been going on, and get a sense of whether working together feels aligned. There’s no pressure or commitment.

  • Tilted Root is an out-of-network practice and does not accept insurance directly.

This allows us to offer more personalized, flexible care without the limitations often required by insurance providers.

We can provide a superbill, which is a detailed receipt you can submit to your insurance company for possible reimbursement through out-of-network benefits. We’re happy to guide you through that process.

    Current rates:

    • $200 — Individual virtual therapy

    • $215 — Walk-and-talk therapy

    • $265 — Couples therapy

Starting September 2026 new client rates:

    • $205 — Individual Virtual and In-Person Therapy

    • $220 — Walk and Talk Therapy

    • $245 — Couples Therapy

  • Many people who come to therapy are used to being the one others rely on. You don’t have to be in crisis to benefit from support. Therapy can be a place to step out of “holding it all together” and have space that’s just for you.

  • Support from people you trust is important—but therapy offers something different. It’s a space focused entirely on you, guided by clinical training and experience. We help you notice patterns, build skills, and process things in a way that’s often hard to do on your own or in close relationships.

  • Showing up consistently and being open—even when it feels uncomfortable—can make a big difference. Therapy is a collaborative process, and we’ll adjust along the way based on what’s working for you.

  • You don’t need to fit perfectly into a label or category to benefit from therapy here. While we specialize in supporting women and couples, we work with individuals of all identities and backgrounds. If something about this space resonates with you, that’s enough to start a conversation.

  • Therapy looks different for everyone.

Some clients come in for short-term support around a specific transition, while others choose longer-term work to explore deeper patterns and experiences.

We’ll check in regularly about what’s feeling helpful and adjust as your needs evolve.

  • Under the No Surprises Act, you have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate explaining the expected cost of your care.

Before beginning services, you can request an estimate of the total expected fees for therapy. If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your estimate, you have the right to dispute the charges.

We’re happy to provide this and answer any questions so you feel informed and comfortable moving forward.

  • Yes. Clients must be physically located in Maryland at the time of each session due to state licensure requirements. Walk-and-talk therapy is available in Baltimore and Howard counties.

  • Hanna brings exceptional care to both settings, but her work within Tilted Root is built around a distinct, highly collaborative ecosystem and community. Booking her here means your therapeutic journey is fully integrated into our specialized trauma-informed framework. The out-of-network fee of $245 reflects the extensive behind-the-scenes resources backing your care, including our dedicated advanced consultation groups and shared clinical networks designed to treat the root, not just the symptoms.

We deeply value financial accessibility and autonomy in healing. If utilizing in-network insurance benefits aligns best with your current needs, we fully support you connecting with Hanna directly through her independent private practice, Narratives Therapy, for individual therapy.  Please note, she only takes in network insurance through Carefirst and Johns Hopkins EHP for individual services as insurance does not cover Couples Therapy.  However, her fee is $200 for Couples Therapy through her private practice.
